فسر عدد كبير من الكتاب والصحفيين والفنانين الأزمة الواقعة بين المطربة كارول صقر وشركة روتانا، على خلفية كليبها الأخير “جرح غيابك”، وهو الكليب الذي منعت روتانا عرضه بسبب احتوائه على مشاهد ذات إيحاءات جنسية جريئة، أن رفض إذاعة الكليب يأتي في إطار السياسة الجديدة للأمير الوليد بن طلال، الذي قام مؤخراً بتأسيس جمعية خيرية، أطلقت حملة كبيرة لمحاربة العري والإقلاع عن شرب الكحوليات، وأن منع الجرأة والمشاهد العارية، في كليبات مطربات روتانا، يعود لمحاولة الوليد إيجاد نوع من التوافق بين محاربته للعري وبين ما اعتادت الشركة إذاعته من كليبات عارية وجريئة.
كان مخرج الكليب يحيى سعادة قد رفض حذف المشاهد التي اعتبرتها روتانا ذات إيحاءات جنسية، مما اضطر الشركة إلى منع إذاعة الكليب، وهو ما أثار غضب المطربة كارول صقر، والتي قررت فسخ تعاقدها مع شركة روتانا، خاصة بعد أن أخلت الشركة بوعدها لكارول بتصوير كليب جديد للأغنية بدلاً من الذي تم منع إذاعته.

By the way, The video clips on Rotana and other arabic channels look more like the hip hop nasty video clips from BET. They both promote sexism and humiliate women! The difference is in the west women are RESPECTED. They are free to drive, vote, work, and even rule the country…in our world only free to look like a hooker if they want to make money singing or acting. I guess thats why all the young girls dream to be like them because that’s the further they are allowed to go to feel powerful. Sad and pathetic.

Ok, excuse me but you didn’t understand anything from what I said.
First of all: BET is a black hip hop channel that is known in America as a nasty channel that promotes violence and degrade women ( meaning they show women almost naked dancing and doing other things…) I didn’t say anything about the rest of american channels, so what I meant is Most of arabic video clips are like BET!
And, yes women are respected in the west and can do whatever they want…(drive) I meant for Saudie women…
I never made fun of arabic women cause I’m Arab, and YES most of the young women now dream to be famous, check all the tv shows that are around .
